Anyone know where I can get info on a 99 rock shox fork?Matno

www.rockshox.com only has stuff going back to 2000. Anyone know where I can get info on a '99 Judy XLC Dual-crown fork? Travel is not as much as I would like and I'm wondering if it's adjustable. (It's supposed to be a 100mm fork but I'm not getting more than 80mm, if that). Also, an owner's manual online would be great so i can see how to maintain/disassemble it in case I need to.
I don't know of an online source....Squash

But I have an owner's manual for my wifes 99 RS Judy XC. It covers the Judy C, XC, 100, and XLC. As far as the travel goes, the 99 XLC's travel is not adjustable. The limits on the 100 and XLC was 100mm (non adjstable). The forks internals are not capable of handling more than that. My guess as to why you are not getting more than 80mm of travel out of the fork is the springs that you are currently using are too stiff for your weight. The owner's manual gives you spring rate/rider weight recommendations. Anyway, if you'd like, I can copy the owners manual and mail it to you. Drop me an email at squash7000@hotmail.com if you are interested. I'd scan it and send it to you attached to an email, but I've tried that before and it doesn't scan very well. Ends up hard to read. Anyway, let me know.

The manual is perfect. Unfortunately, I still am at a loss as to what is wrong with the fork. I don't think the springs are too heavy (heavy, yes, but not too heavy) since I can compress through the first couple of inches no problem. It really just stops hard at about 2 inches. No progressive feel at all. Just a dead stop. It also clunks in the middle. A dull almost muffled thunk. It's not super urgent since this is on my wife's bike and she doesn't know the difference, but it's bugging the snot out of me. Especially since this is a relatively unused shock.

My X-vert fork is WAY nicer...

Is this a single-owner fork? Ever wrecked it? Maybe the stanchions are bent? Take the springs completely out. Can you compress the fork completely now?
Bent stanchions - possible. I'll have to try it.Matno

I am the second owner. However, damage from a wreck is unlikely as there is literally not one external scratch on the fork. They are like brand new and according to the previous owner have only been ridden about 50 miles. Judging by the condition of the fork and the rest of the bike, those were easy miles.
