Have you had any trouble with 2001 Z3s creaking? I've developed a creak which seems to be coming from the fork - any ideas?

Dec 20, 2001 11:22 AM | | Both my '00 and '01 X-Flies creaked and are creaking, respectively. The creak was/is coming from the cryo-fit joint between the crown and the stanchions. Marzocchi warrantied my '00 X-Fly with a brand-new steerer/crown/stanchion assembly. I have yet to warranty my '01 since the creaking has only just started.

Dec 20, 2001 11:31 AM | | Yeah, I'm familiar with the problems with X-Flys creaking but I haven't heard anything about the Z3, or any other Marz for that matter, suffering. Then again it's the same process so I guess it's entirely feasible. Just wondering if anyone else has had problems with the Z3 in particular. If it's not the fork, anyone have any ideas what else it could be?? I need help.

Dec 21, 2001 10:07 PM | | My 01 X-Fly 80 creaked horribly and it was warrantied no questions asked (whole new steertube stanction assembly). My friends Z3 creaked, same warranty. My other friend's z1 Drop Off just started to creak to. W/ the new assembly the forks no longer makes noise. |

Btw, I'm in the UK so the phone number you gave is pretty useless. I believe Windwave are the UK importers so if I do need them warrantied I'd give them a ring right?
