01 X-Fly Oil Change queation...DIRT BOY
Feb 18, 2002 8:18 AM
I am changing the oil in my X-fly and it says in the manual that SX side gets 45mm of oil and the DX side gets 5mm of oil.
Is this correct? I have heard people metion to put 45mm of oil in both side...that sound wrong?
Now that 45mm fro the top and 5 mm from the stop for oil height?
Any help would be great.

Just did mine yesterday. It's 45 mm from the top of the stanchions to the oil in both legs. Apparently the manual is a misprint.

I'm 150 pounds and added Marzocchi 7.5. It is the oil I was recommended by a lot of people.
Will the 5 wt. make the shock stiffer or less stiff? I'm not totally sure of the difference.

I changed mine last week. I was amazed at how low the oil was from the factory(80 mm on one side 95mm on the other). I'm about 190 lbs. and I put 15 wt. oil in at 40 mm each side. The fork is 100% better I was imeadiatly ridding faster with more confadence. The 15 wt. oil is very heavy and slowed the compression down a good bit thats my personal preferance.
