What's the difference between the Z3, Z2, and Z1 damping in the Zokes? Is there really that much difference?
I'm coming off a Rock Shox Judy long travel so I imagine that i'll notice a world of difference even in the Z3. Just trying to find the best bang for the buck fork I guess. And at $225 for the Z3 and $360 for the Fox it's quite a price jump. I weigh in at 135 lbs. with gear so flex really isn't an issue.
Any opinions or thoughts welcome, thanks as always |
| The difference in damping performance is quite noticeable... | Squash Feb 19, 2002 2:19 PM | | The Z3 uses an open bath oriface type damper where the Z1 (depending on model) and the Z2 use an open bath cartridge damper. The differences are hard (read long) to explain here. The performance of the dampinb on the Z3 is good, the damping on the Z1/2 is excellent. I'm not certain about the system used in the Forx R. I've never ridden one. But I can tell you that even the damping system on the Z3 will burry your Judy any day of the week and twice on Sundays. I currently am running a Z3 and like it, it's a great fork.
