| Is it possible to get new fork stickers from Manitou??? | Christopher Robin Feb 20, 2002 1:07 PM | | I'd be looking for the Xvert Super stickers (2001 if that makes a difference).
Thanks! |
| You can try calling manitou... | Squash Feb 20, 2002 1:50 PM | | but you'll probably have better luck going through your LBS. Be prepared to pay for them though. The days of bike and fork companies giving free decals to customers to replace the old ones on their forks are long gone, it just costs them too much money to do anymore. Unless the fork is still under warranty and the decals are pealing off, expect to pay for them. If Manitou happens to give you a set for free then you'll be pleasantly surprised.

| Thats what you think...:) | Adam Feb 20, 2002 4:44 PM | | Rocky Mountain sent me a new set of Oxygen race decals for absolutley nothing!! they sent me 2 sets too, they are from BC canada, so that does explain alot, they never even made my pay shipping, he e-mailed me and said "Send me your addy, and i'll ship them off right away"
talk about costumer service!! |
| We're not talking about RM here, we're talking about Manitou... | Squash Feb 20, 2002 5:09 PM | | to totaly different companies. Yes there are small manufacturers out there that still do this, and I think it's great. But wise up to the real world, most of the bigger manufacturers just don't, won't, or can't afford to do it anymore. It's not what I think, it's what I KNOW! Manitou has pretty good customer service and MIGHT give the guy the decals free if they still have them. But he's most likely to have to pay for them.

| they do charge..... | heff® Feb 20, 2002 7:34 PM | | ....but it's only a few bucks. Personally, I took all the stickers off my X-Vert, and when I got my new Super lowers, I had them shipped with no stickers. They just look like crap after a few months anyway, and it makes the bike look more trick. I only have two on my bike.....well, four. One Jamis logo on the downtube, and a small Komodo logo on the top tube. I even removed the Titec logos from my stem and bars, and the Ritchey post I'm using now I ordered without logos. She's a clean lookin' machine.

| Stickerless in Michigan | Fuel4U Feb 21, 2002 5:01 PM | | Yo Heff, same here, on my '01 Fuel 90....peeled all stickers off frame/fork, have a LizardSkin on my rear shock (turned inside out, no logo showing)...matte black frame and black fork with no logos looks very "stealth".....was too "busy" looking with the big ol' letters and stupid stripes, etc.....plus, no stickers looks better than, after a few months off road, scratched/torn/marred stickers....
...'nough said :)
Just Say No to stickers/decals/etc... |
| Any pics? | Geo Feb 23, 2002 2:41 PM | | Fuel4U, I also have a 01 Fuel 90, and I have noticed that the stickers on the bike are starting to get torn up just a little bit -- do ya have any pictures of your bike, I am thinking of removing some of my decals as well! (Wih my upgrades this season, going with all black parts...wheefun!)

| ride naked | pedalAZ Feb 21, 2002 7:31 PM | | I'm with heffR and Fuel4U: lose the stickers. My polished aluminum frame looks great in the buff. HeffR, by the way, rides in a smoking jacket, pajamas, with a pipe, and a single Playboy sticker on the head tube. Stylin'. That is the right heffR, ins't it? |
| man, yer good.......... | heff® Feb 22, 2002 6:10 AM | | ......although I don't have the sticker. I have a Playmate zip tied to my stem.
