Mounting a Vanilla R(3 posts)

Mounting a Vanilla RE
Feb 21, 2002 8:22 PM
Ok, tell if I got hammered in this deal. Bought a slightly used Vanilla R (shock looks really clean), so when I get it the "eye-to-eye" length is correct and all but the Fox does not have the Mounting spacers and there is no bushing in the eyes. This normal or did I get hosed? Also the thickness of the Fox mount is narrower than the RST it was going to replace, anyone suggest any help? Not sure where/if bushings can be attained and/or spacers to allow for narrower mounts.

Thanks

E

As long as your bike is pretty "standard" ie. readily available, chances are, Fox will have the proper bushings/spacers to fit the shock to your bike. Getting the bushings into your eyelet can be a bit of a pain, but not always. They are usually a "press" fit. In any case, give Fox a call they should be able to help you out. Good luck.
