Coming soon 01 Psylo U-Turn upgrade kitmtbrider

I spoke to Rock Shox yesterday and found out they are coming out with a U-Turn upgrade kit for the 01 Psylo so you can adjust the travel on fly just like the O2. The kit will come in different spring stiffness rates and said they would be available in a couple of weeks. Couldn't get a price out of them but the part number is,
110-006574-03.

Thanks! I wonder about pre load adjustmentsmtbrider

How will you adjust the Pre Load to get the proper sag? There doesn't appear to be anyway to adjust that on the upgrade kit.
Thats one of the drawbacks to the U-turn...Squash

there is no provsion for preload adjustment. The only way to adjust sag is with spring rate. If preload adjustment is improtant to you then stick with your current system. The U-turn system has basically non-adjustable preload.

Can change springs to match your weightErin

That correct...but you have the option of using one of 3 springs I believe to match your weight.

Preload only deals with the first 20% of a forks travel. The whole "preload/sag" thing is wayyyy overblown. When did you ever see a preload adjuster on a CR250? Just a gimick for shop employees to use when selling bikes.
Sag is a gimmick?Metroid

You need preload to set sag unless you are the ideal weight for the spring. I've ridden with and without sag on serveral bikes. I much prefer my suspension setup with sag.

Sorry I wasn't clear-people are far more concerned about running a fork with 15.98743165890mm of sag rather than taking the time to get the proper spring rate. Common misconception that preload makes a fork stiffer for the entire travel. With the proper spring rate a fork should sag anyway. For the perfectionists in the world, yes they need preload to get the 15.98743165890mm of sag, rest of us just ride.
Agreed...Metroid

There are a lot of misconceptions regarding sag and preload and you should get the proper spring rate for you and your frame. However, most springs are setup for certain weight range. If you a bit on the light side of that range it's nice to have a little preload to get the proper sag. That's the beauty of a coil setup. It's set it and forget it. You really only have to do it once so you might as well set up right.
