| X-Vert Carbon not as stiff | Jay Feb 23, 2002 7:01 PM | | I have a 2000 X-Vert Carbon, and i only weigh 130lbs, but it seems like its not as stiff, and is bottoming out alot. I have the preload as tight as it goes. Someone help me. |

Spring colours are
blue=soft
red=medium
yellow=firm.
If your damper is good then go for firmer springs, 15mm of preload makes piss all difference on a 180mm travel fork.

Disc brake pads usually move a bit this gives you play when you lock the front wheel.
Xvert Carbons are stiff forks.
There is something wrong if they are flexing maybe new bushings are in order.
I bought mine second hand and so did a guy I ride with they are both stiff forks.
Seals are not the best though so use them with at least mini boots.
It could also be your front hub or maybe the tru axle isn't tightned properly.
These are the best performing forks for the weight you can bar none. |
