long story made short....

bought a bike, ordered '01 z2 bomber coils... got '01 z2 atom sport bomber airs...

i don't care about weight
i am not racing, i want to do some down hill, technical stuff when i move back to the mountains...

i'm worried about maintenance, performance, quality, and wondering about price difference (not as big of a concern, but it would help if anyone knew...)
oh, i weigh 135 Lbs...

i really need help here... i've been outta the loop for a while... it's amazing how fast things change....

thanx
I'd send the fork back and get the one you orderedKornphlake

I f you plan on doing any freeriding or down hill you'll appreciate the coil springs. The air will be lighter but somewhat less responsive over small stuff and more progressive towards the end of the travel. Maintenence on coil forks is minimal especially on bomber forks. Air forks have more seals to deal with. I would rather have a coil fork if I was in you situation. You may need lighter springs I don't know what comes stock in a Z2, some come with springs for a heavier rider, hence the advantage of air, anybody can ride it without having to buy new springs.
Umm..first off the Z2 Atom Sprort is an 01 fork...Squash

the poster is not likely to get anywhere sending it back and demanding what was ordered. Probably all they had left was the air model. Second on that level of Marzocchi fork there are NO MORE SEALS involved, or maintenance for that matter, than on the coil fork. The air version does not use a separate air cartridge, the air chamber is actually the space between the top caps and the surface of the oil in the fork. The only seal involved is the main oil seal which does double duty as the air seal. Zocch oil seals are rated to 300psi and well suited to the job. Just thought you'd like to know.
