I'm getting a new fork and I'm leaning to the marathon but read something about oil leaks/blow cartridges, does this happens too often or are a few isolated cases?
Is there anybody out there with serious time on this fork?

Thanks for any info.

I've been riding/racing a Marathon 100 since last September, and have had no problems to speak of.
No problems for me either...dreampath

I've had mine for about 3 months, with a couple of rides per week. I've had no problems at all. It's an awesome fork; I highly recommend it. I was traveling on some rough singletrack in the near-dark last night, and it really smoothed out the invisible bumps and dips. Given that its marketed for its durability, that would be ironic if blown cartridges were really a problem.

Can't really give you much help.. I have a 100mm Marathon.. It has been in the bike shop for 4 FRIGGING WEEKS waiting for a new ECC cartridge.. I've only had the fork since Dec.. It was manufactored with the INCORRECT amount of oil in the legs,, thus giving it only about 80mm of travel.. So much for "Quality Control"..
My advise is to staple 6 $100 bills on your living room wall.. You will NOT be able to use them on your bike.. But then, I CAN't use my 6 bills worth on my bike,,either.. Shop around.. don't fall for the "fluff".... I am SERIOUSLY considering a White Brothers XC-4 fork.. Good news is that it is a few $$$ less than my SIX HUNDRED DOLLAR Huffy,er Marathon, fork..
