Marzocchi Z-3.5 keeps topping out(2 posts)

Marzocchi Z-3.5 keeps topping outMark
Apr 8, 2002 2:24 PM
Hey, I have a Z-3.5 that came spec on a P-3. I have problems with annoying top out when i lift the front off the ground (to hop, etc). It's like there's no damping if you suddenly jerk up. Does the fork just need more oil, or heavier oil - or are my springs toast? Anybody else have the same sort of problem?

Any help would be great!

a buddy of mine had this happen with a Z-4 air. what we did to his fork was change the oil to 7wt. nothing happened. we took it apart again and found that when he had sent it in for a waranty, who ever had put it back together had installed the rebound valves upside down. so, moral of the story, when you are changing your oil to 7wt, look real close at the manual and make sure your valves are right side up. if you are riding a P-3 like you should, you probably need heavier oil anyway. ride on!
