| Argh... | Joe P. Apr 8, 2002 9:30 PM | | I have a problem.
I just got a Fat Chance Yo Eddy (no problem there) but it has *ugh* Rock Shox Mag 21 for front suspension. Despite sucking, these shocks are too short for the frame (thanks for the adv. Rhino). I'm riding down on top of them and loosing all my power up hills and slight inclines; it bounces on every pump (even on the hardest settings). Plus, the travel is waaay too much for an old school rider like me. Without a doubt, I need new shocks. My problem is, I know nothing of the shock industry and I have some strict confines to work within.
Here is what I'm looking for:
longer!!!
little travel
1" (I think the Yo Eddy is 1" but it could be 1-1/8)
I weigh 160-165
I do long XC, ST and Tech riding
Rugged
Preferably under 3 bills (I'm tapped)
My allowances:
I don't care what yr/model
what company (as long as it's quality)
how heavy or light
looks
used or new
If anyone can give me some direction to start I would be eternally grateful. A company or a specific model, I don't care. I need a launching off place. I also work for a non-profit adventure camp (hiking, fishing, canoeing, wilderness survival, rock climbing, snorkeling, and now, mountain biking). I am going to guide kids with the bike so maybe I can call a company and get a discount? It was suggested that I look at AMP. Thanks y'all!
See you on the trails,
