The SX-E has TPC Sport. In one leg it has a coil and an MCU, in the other a simple, unadjustable piston for damping. The SX up to (and including) 99 and SX-R has adjustable damping and rebound. In addition to that I guess the steerer might be steel (don't know for sure) and other minor material/weight differences. The SX-E is a nice recreational fork, heaps better than the RST-sh*t and other usually on that kind of bikes. The SX-R is a good XC fork, and great value for money.
