anyone know what the years were when they offered the jr. T in an orange color? what was the last year, i have a chance at one for 150... plush and in good shape, should i go for it? right now i still have my sh#t rst fork on my rocky mountain.

i dont recall any aftermarket model year with that color (exept maybe '98 which i'm not 100% on) meaning the color would be associated with the particular bike it came on ('99 Stabs came with a redish/orange JrT for example). Also the lowers can be swapped from a z1 or z3 so the color/year thing isnt all that reliable.

Best way to tell is what travel: '98s were 4", '99-'00 were 5", '01s 6". Also the 98-00 models had a the aluminum bolt on CNCd arch. The '00 had the internal rebound adjustment.

Franckly i wouldnt trust buying form someone that couldnt tell you what year it was, or even any of the mentioned specs above. The color alone is not a good indicator.

it has the cnc aluminum brace, and he said that he upgraded to 6"? of travel, right now his ride is a monster-t, he works at the same bike shop i may be hired at, i just really haven't paid attention to the marzocchi forks lately. but yeah, it has that red/orange color on it, that would go almost perfect with my orange rocky mountain dh team.

oh yeah, i forgot, the legs do say jr. T on them but are that orange color, has no rebound damping. I am not so sure bout his claim about the 6 inches of travel, but im going to check it out, tear it down and check the travel. im willing to bet it is a 98 jimmy rigged for 5-6 inches of travel... i know i upped my rst hi 5 to 6 inches fairly easily.
thats shady..i've heard that before....zedro

you cant upgrade those forks (98-00) to 6". The only travel you could possibly squeeze out of it is by removing the negative spring (20mm extra travel), which is a very bad thing to do, or by using the 2001 internals, which is also a very bad thing. I've heard these claims, and i've also heard that some people who really did these things had their forks end up in Marzocchis tech guys laps.

yeah i am going to investigate it myself some more, i have always wanted a bomber, and i held the thing in my hand, but i'd personally like to take it apart, or at least ride it and make sure im not going to die.
