...if you can't figure out how to remove a threadless fork, maybe you should take it to a shop. Why are you trying to remove it in the first place?
Let your shop do it.MongooseMan

You would be better off to let your local bike shop do it. If you don't know what your doing you could mess up your new fork. My shop only charged me $45 to install mine and did it in 2 hours.

ACTUALLY $45 IS A PRETTY FAIR PRICE FOR AN INSTALL. DEPENDING ON THE SPECIFACS OF REINSTALLING THE BRAKES(A LONGER FORK USES LONGER BRAKE AND POSSIBLY SHIFT LINES), ADDITIONAL PARTS ETC.

All of the other bike shop around wanted $55 to $60 and 5 to 6 hours to change it. And I would have had to drive an hour just to have it done. I was able to drop my bike off at lunch and pick it up after work.
take a look at itRe-Pete

People may be heitant to tell you how cause if you stuff up and hurt yourself someone is likely to get sued

its not that hard just take a look at it

If you cant work it out then as said before mabey you shouldnt do it

I'm sure you could find a book that'll tell you how to do this and more

anyway heres a hint you need an allen key
Nice answer! WTF it techtalk for?Mikey

This forum EXISTS so that people can help each other out in working on their bikes. "Look at it" "Find a book". LOL.
So wheres your instructions??Re-Pete

If you object to my responce

While I do agree these forums are here to help
I am concerned that if somone needs to ask how to remove a fork they may not have the mechanical skills (or tools) to do the job or more importantly put the fork back on properly which could result in someone getting hurt

On the other hand had the question been how do I replace the headset or how tight should I tourqe the top cap so as not to damage the headset we may have been more forthcoming with the answers

Anyway I'll just return to my shed and try to work out how to put my seat down a bit
So wheres your instructions??Mikey

I didn't offer instructions because I haven't done it.
Here it is in two steps...msylvan

1. Take off stem cap, stem, and/or spacers.
2. Take off fork.

Normally requires one allen wrench (usually 5mm).

To install reverse the instructions, but be careful not to under or over torque the bolts when reinstalling.

Having said all of this, if you have to ask, get help the first time you do this from either your LBS or a knowledgable friend.
