| 2002 psylo options... | rus Jun 5, 2002 11:29 AM | | I'm getting a new bike and it comes stock with a 2002 Psylo XC. I can upgrade and get the Psylo SL for $60 more. Is it worth it? Let me know what you guys think. I like to lock the fork out but I have heard that the lockout on the SL is cruddy anyways so that wouldn't make much sense. Any input?? Thanks |

I never lock it out, but the compression adjustment has a real wide range, and if you're doing any climbing in a longer travel setting, it can help just to crank it up a bit. It's also nice on the downhills. For smoother downhills, with pesky little stutter bumps and the like, you can open the compression all the way up to absorb them. Or if you going down drops or steps or something, it can help to turn the comp up about halfway to prevent bottoming. Anyway, I've trail-ridden mine for two months, and have no complaints (I don't do big drops or uban stuff). |

The sl also has a better coating on the stanchions and an aluminum steerer tube, so it's slightly lighter. For $60 I would say do it. Fons |
