Help with Marzocchi oil levels and questions like that...Allroy

I have an 01 MCR...

I think they say too fill it up 55mm from the top as a start, but do they mean from the very top or the bottom of the threads for the top caps? Also is that with or without springs and stantions up or down? I had too dump lots of oil out the last time, got 3 inches of travel out of a 5" fork, petty funny.

Also does anyone know how much oil that equates too per leg which would be easier too measure then filling up too a certain point?

thanx,
-j

p.s. I'm going to use golden spectro 7.5wt if that matters

Hey Allroy, how are ya? Back to the grind now eh? Sounds like you guys had a great trip, wish I could have gotten more riding in while you guys were out here. Anyway, measure the oil from the very top edge of the stanchion, springs removed, fork fully compressed. I don't know the cc's measurement for that one off the top of my head.

the good ole grind, my job is actually pretty sweet, aside from being a computer/advertising geek in the bike industry wouldn't really want to do anything else.

yeah our trip was a blast, the best one so far I think! You know it's good when you can't even describe how good it was with words. Yeah that would have been kewl to ride with you guys some more, but that day was pretty memorable, who'd of thought we'd be riding in the snow!

Thanks for the tips, that makes it really easy!
