Looking to buy new older-model forks. What's the best value?Micheal.

I have an older (circa 98) ridgid frame. I feel it's time to get some front shocks but didn't want to spend a fortune. I'm probably looking for a older model shock and was wondering what the best bet out there?
The bike has a threadless stem and it's 1 1/8 so it can handle a shock. I'm definitely looking for a 80mm travel shock since I figure 100 would be too big, it'll change the handling of the bike too much. Lockouts would be nice but defintely not a necessity. Since it's a price issue, I'll probably go air.

I mostly do XC and medium trails. The frame and bike overall is pretty old so nothing incredibly extreme on the trails.

Thanks for any/all input.

While still being decent XC use forks. I would try to get the Manitou SX-R if it is still available. Has TPC+ which is a very good dampning control system.

Lots of choices on this page - SX-R or SX-LE are good options

not sure what amount you want to spend, but you can pick up a marz. 2001 atom race at supergo for $269.00 or an xfly for the same price. depends on what you want to spend.
