Modifying Z2 Atom Bomb '99 (again...)?Clout

Can I use my current '99 Z2 stanchions and sliders with the new 2002 Atom Race 100mm cartridge and spring in order to get 100mm of travel, HSCV and the ECC?

If so, then in fact are the sliders and stanchions on the Z2 Atom Bomb 99 the same as the Z1 CR such that I could in fact convert my fork to a 130 (or 110mm) Z1 CR?

Thanks in advance.
stanchions are shorter, I thinkeric wictor

You can put an Atom Race catridge in there, but I don't think you can convert a 75mm travel (?) '99 model to 100mm, much less 130mm.

You can add about 10mm with a Speedspring kit, and you may be able to get a little more travel out of it by removing or reducing the size of the topout springs under the (dummy-)cartridge. But 130 mm? I doubt it.

Thanks. I also checked older posted message and those stanchions are indeed of different lenghts... Too bad. What would be the effects of removing the top out spring? Harsher ride I guess?
You'd get very harsh metal to metal top out....Squash

not a good thing. Could and probably would damage the fork. I wouldn't recommend it.

Good Dirt
I'll forget this crazy scheme then... and go for a 2003 Z1 FR SLClout

...or maybe a 2003 Fox Float RLC.
