| Fox Float bushing/reducer question | eric wictor Aug 9, 2002 9:26 AM | | I'm trying to find out what part of my suspension is making the awful noises... Are the aluminium reducers meant to rotate in the shock's eyelets, or should the be completely fixed? |
| They should be able to move slightly but... | Metroid Aug 9, 2002 10:28 AM | | They shouldn't noticeably move. If you take the shock off and can pull the reducers out without a great deal of effort, they are starting to wear. The DU bushings are Teflon coated brass. Eventually it wears off and works into the brass. It's only about $10 for a complete set of DU bushings and reducers. It should only take a few minutes with a vice and a couple sockets to replace them. |
| Thanks, I think the problem may lie there... | eric wictor Aug 9, 2002 9:56 PM | | I can't pull the reducers out by hand, but the rear set turns quite easily (they'd better, otherwise I won't have any linkage plates left soon), while the front reducers are stuck in there VERY tight. |
