Marzocchi negative spring replacement, how?????Dave J

I have pulled the damping rod out of my DJ1's but i can't get the negative spring off, the rod is too big at each end! I presume that you have to pull the alloy bit off the black rod, but i am scared to put too much force into it. Can anyone help me otherwise no ride till next w-end :(

Yes i am putting in the 110 - 130 mm extension kit.

The end piece just presses on to the rod. If you can't pull it off by hand then tap it off gently. If it's tight I usually just set the side of a crescent wrench on it and then tap with a hammer.
