Giant AC Rear Shock Help!(1 post)

Giant AC Rear Shock Help!chomp
Aug 11, 2002 6:11 PM
OK...reading the reviews and stuff, looks like there are some issues/inconsistencies with how stiff you can crank the spring (preload)

I want it a stiff a possible for XC riding...any thoughs or ideas from AC riding experience as to how tight I can have the preload set? Apparently the Giant manual says you can have 1/2 the threads showing beneath the spring, the Rock Shox manual says no more than 2 1/2 turns tighter than zero pre-load -- which seems to be a little too much sag --I have a heavier spring on it too.

any help would be great
