|   Developing issues w/'00 Sid Race | drs
Aug 12, 2002 8:25 AM | | After a good run, my sid race is now leaking oil. This just happened recently, and it's leaving oil all over the sliders. Also, it's developed serious bushing play.
I know what can be done about the bushings (have a new set pressed in), but what is causing the sudden oil leakage, and what can I do about it?

Aug 12, 2002 8:35 AM | | When the bushings develop play the sliders move around on the seals and they wear out very quickly. The seals almost always get destroyed when taking them out to replace the bushings so a new set is necessary anyway. the Sid revive kit for the 2000 forks contains both bushings and seals anyway. you need a specific bearing press to replace the bushings and a shop is the best way to get this done. |
