Got a new frame..now a fork..?Adam

Im building a nice and durable xc ride for my dad..I just picked up a brand new 2002 jamis komodo frame for $160 on ebay!! ( sells for $800 cdn frame only here in canada). What would be a good fork for him? i dont want to spend alot on a new fork ( gotta buy disc brakes and stuff). He weighs 150 Lbs and rides pretty aggresive XC. I'll be buying used..i was thinking a manitou mars or something..but what will match up well with this frame?
Thanks
I think a Manitou Xvert would be a better choice.RVM
