| 2002 Giant NRS... upgrade to Cloud Nine worth it? | Wildewinds Oct 19, 2002 10:55 AM | | So far, my Rockshox SID XC rear shock is holding pressure no problem. Supposedly that's the biggest problem with that shock. So... assuming that shock doesn't break down, is the Clound Nine's ride worth the $225 upgrade price? I have the money... |
| Why not the AD12? | næstep Oct 19, 2002 12:16 PM | | If you Sid is in good shape, hawk it on eBay for $75+ and apply that to the $200 purchase price of a new AD12.
With the NRS you won't need the Cloud Nine's pseudo-lockout if your run no sag, and it won't lock out the minimal bob that occurs if you run your shock a little shock.

| Why not the AD12? | BS Oct 21, 2002 5:14 AM | | I have an AD10 (similar to AD12). It works about as well as the OEM SID set up with higher negative pressure (100# in my case). I now have a Cloud Nine. Way plusher. It's a much better shock than either the SID or AD10. I recommend taking advantage of Cane Creek's upgrade program. If you're on a budget, an AD12 is a good shock as well and, unlike the SID, can be rebuilt in 10 minutes. |
