| Which fork for Specialized FSR XC? | supercomp Oct 22, 2002 9:00 AM | | I just got a new 2002 Specialized FSR XC. The bike came with a 80mm Rockshox Duke XC. The fork had a gouge in the upper tube so it's getting sent back. They will be sending me a 100mm RS Duke XC. Should I use the 100mm Duke or should I get something else? I ride in Seattle area, mostly cross country and some tight twisty trails, not a racer, But do long climbs. Also do the adjustable travel forks work( Manitou BLack or RockShox U-turn) and are they durable? |
| re: Which fork for Specialized FSR XC? | RIDKDR Oct 22, 2002 12:35 PM | | I just put a marzocchi mx pro on my trek fuel. it is 105mm with a semi lockout feature that leaves you with 30mm of travel and shortens the fork considerably for climbing. the fork is one side coil and one side air. use the air to set sag. it has rebound damping adjustment that actually does something. the "lockout" feature is accessed from the top of the fork unlike the manitou which it replaces. let me tell you, this fork is very nice far smoother and better damped than the manitou. like night and day. price? very reasonable i think at $300.00
call larry mettler at high mountain cyclery in colorado.http://www.mtnhighcyclery.com
i think the quality is outstanding for the price. must be the dollar/lire exchange rate that is in our favor. |
