Lock out...(3 posts)

Lock out...NO -- IQ

when and where is the right time to lock your shock out, does it have to be in an uphill? downhill? or in a flat? what benefit does it do in every ride.

I'm considering of changing my suspensions, front and rear, for the ones with a lock out feature if it would help my ride in all terrain situations. I'm purely into XC riding and I,m getting started into hill climbing and fast downhill single track descent. I'm riding a 2001 fuel 80 and I need help which fork and rear shock is appropriate for the kind of ride. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

on long road segments when I'm linking multiple trails together, or if I have an easy but looong fire road climb (i.e. 10 miles of constant up). Otherwise I prefer the suspension.

I have a rear lockout on my bike and I use it on the road. I don't have a front lockout, but would like one for the street. One of the rides I do quite often starts with a 6 mile, ~2500 foot paved climb. There's no need for suspension, so the lockouts come in handy.
