Looking for a new fork for my Jamis Dakar Pro. Currently running a 97/98 Marzocchi Z2 Alloy w/ 70mm travel. That fork is destined for a HT frame I am building up. The new one should be 80 or 100mm.

Budget is roughly 200 beans and I am not opposed to used/NOS. (good thing, too) The bike has a Fox float rear shock. I ride XC trails in New England, the more technical, the better.

Forks being considered are the Mantiou Mars Elite, Marzocchi Z3 Air from Pricepoint, and possibly a RS Duke XC or Race. I have found all these forks in this range. If I could find one, I would really like an Atom Race, but all that I have found are just out of my price range.

I have checked the reviews of these, and all seem to be rated reasonably well. The most important thing to me is the ease of getting a fork dialed in, and how well it maintains that setting. Weight is not a concern, as my existing fork is on the heavy side, and I am about 190lb. Bonus points awarded for a red fork.

Any suggestions or direct comparisons between these choices?

thanks

it's a WAY better fork than any of the others that you have mentioned.
Easier to maintain, more durable, and IMHO a better damping system than the others. Just my 2 cents.

Good Dirt
