Hey Ventanarama or Squash.....(8 posts)

Hey Ventanarama or Squash.....Cotton Eye Joe

I was surfing Marz '03 site and saw the '03 EXR doesn't have the new M-crown and new sculpted lowers like the rest of the lineup. Why's this? Is it because the EXR is made in Taiwan? Much thanks!!

I've got one on my 02 roast, yeah, it's a taiwan fork. Where abouts is the 03 version on their site, I couldn't find it. I'm almost thinking that they'd just be using existing 02 stock, not really an 03 model as such. I can't really see why they'd put any extra effort into their budget fork. It works great as is anyway, maybe an inch more'd be nice tho'.

My guess is that at the current price they just didn't feel they could improve the fork without the price going up. There's only so much you can do at that price. It's a good fork for the money.

Thanks Larry. Yeah you're right, I guess it is good fork for the money....Marz quality, stiffness, low maintenance and reliability-- Looks just like its bigger brothers. If the EXR is made in Taiwan, what parts are made there? Thanks!

I believe it's just the lowers that are made there, and then Marzocchi does all the internals.

Thanks very much Larry!! nmCotton Eye Joe

My exr runs a more conventional style upper and lower bushings, but I haven't been inside a marz fork more recent than 00, I'm not sure if the other marz forks have switched to this from the larger single bushing.

Yes, the redesigned the bushings for all the forks this year. I believe everything is now using a 2-bushing per side setup like yours.
