Trade your 2003 Z1 FR internals for my FR SL internals?watermoccasin

I recently got a 2003 Z1 FR SL after much fretting over whether to get the coils or the Doppio Air. Decided on the FR SL for weight-weenieism and to try the 5-position ECC. Took it on two moderate XC rides, about an hour each, and decided I want the coils. The SL is awesome, but I'd like a little more plushness from coil springs, plus I only use positions 1 and 5 on the ECC anyway, plus my rear suspension is coil sprung. The fork is in new condition, no damage or crashes or bottoming out or anything, and if somebody else has a new or like-new 2003 Z1 and would like to trade me the internals (or possibly just trade forks), send me an e-mail at watermoccasin11 at hotmail.

Have a new 02 Z1 coil.
I like the plushness of the coil/oil, but hear the new generation air shocks are pretty good.
IS the "5-position ECC" actually an ECT (adjustable travel), or really an "ECC" (lockout only) like the what I have ?

then again, if the internals won't/don't fit...

Yes, the new generation air shocks are very good - almost as plush as coils, far ahead of my old X-fly. The major difference seems to be whether you prefer the more progressive feel and lighter weight of an air shock or the more linear feel of a coil shock. Small bump sensitivity feels about the same.

The 5-position ECC is as follows: 1st position is most plush, 2-4 are progressively stiffer but full travel (good for flat XC and fire roads), 5th position is the "ECC" lockout/travel reducer.

I sent Marzocchi an email asking if the internals could be swapped, and their response was yes. (cartridges, springs, top caps)
I have a Z.1 FR coil...toonces

But it's a well-used 2002 model that's almost a year old. I've been eyeballing those 2003 Z.1's mighty hard. I have a rear air shock, and I like my coil sprung z.1 FR but wouldn't mind something stiffer. Having seen the new forks in the local shop, gotta say they are beef. Very nice looking. I have a bike with the new Dirt Jumper II on the way so I'm waiting to try out the new fork designs. Although the DJII is likely no comparison to the Z.1 as far as trail riding goes.
