How do I know if the bushing in my fork is wornJYLO

Sorry this may sound like a "uh, Duh" question. I have a pair of '01 Psylos (not the greatest. yes, i know). There are stories and reviews about its easily worn bushings. The fork feels fine but has developed a mild clanking-sound at the end of the rebound.

thanks!

Squeeze the front brake lever and rock the front end of the bike back and forth. If you feel play it's either a loose headset or worn bushings. You can put your free hand around the headtube/headset cups interface to eliminate the loose headset alternative. If there's no play, then your bushings are fine. The clunk might well be something else, like too little preload. Maybe it's time to take it apart and service it?
Thanks!JYLO

Thanks, I did exactly what you suggested. It wasn't the headset so it seems like its the fork. Truth is, I have tried the rocking-method before since the front has been very "scatchy" lately. I didn't know how worn bushings are suppose to feel thus the question.
You are right, its time to take it apart and service it.
