weights down the page there? 5wt being equal to 7.5wt marzocchi oil.

I just changed to Silkolene, halp 7.5wt and 5wt for the cooler winter riding here in Colorado Front Range. It the numbers are correct, I now have "heavier" oil than stock in my Z3 100 Coil.

I don't know what to do!

TIA
Here's a link to the post. Didn't realize it moved so far.Zeke

Well here's my experience.

My first oily manitou (95 EFC cartridge) came with I think maxima 5wt. I bought some 5wt PJ1 and it was way thicker. I then bought some 2.5wt PJ1 which I feel would rate as about a 4wt maxima fluid.
My 97 FS Ti gave me the same results. I then bought 2.5wt silkolene when the PJ1 ran out. It's lighter than the PJ1, but not much.

I'm currently using Spectro 5wt fork oil in my Xvert DC. It's indistinguishable in feel from the original 5wt oil (maxima?). It's also a real cool green colour.

Dexron III ATF (auto transmission fluid) seems to run a little thicker than the 7.5wt fluid that marzocchi's come with and feels stable with temperature.

I've also used hydraulic oil. Caltex HD32 and HD45(?), the hydraulic oils don't hold their viscosity as the temperature changes. It really makes you realise how good synthetic oils and ATF are.
