RockShox SL,TT,XC, etc (3 posts)
| RockShox SL,TT,XC, etc | woofers May 18, 2003 7:51 PM | | What do the different RockShox 2-letter designations mean? I presume XC means, well, XC, but what about the others? |
| here is a rundown | etal May 19, 2003 2:47 AM | | The XC designation has really nothing to do with cross country. The designation just means which model is considered better and costs more. Usually the top of the line has more features (ie lockout , remote and external adjustmensts) and a better damping system and as you go down the scale you loose some features. All the models of the same line use similar external parts and have the same intended use (all duke forks are cross country forks , all psylo forks are trail/light freeride forks).
At least for the psylo ,duke and pilot lines here is the rating from best to worst:
Race - Top of the line
SL - Some improvement
XC - The base model
C - Botttom of the line usually OEM only
The TT designation is only for the judy line and used to be a OEM low end designation (no damping). The 2003 judy TT is equivalent to the judy C in almost everything and both are really low end forks. |
