May 18, 2003 9:06 PM | | Just a couple of questions. On all Skareb Supers I've seen so far, the crowns have always been polished and the lockout levers were red. Then I came across this Skareb Super from Colorado Cyclist's website. It has a black crown and the lockout lever is black. Is this part of a special batch not available to the public? I've seen some pros at the Sea Otter riding Skarebs with black crowns (not sure if it was carbon though).
Also, one thing that's keeping me from buying a Skareb is the cheap lockout. On all the Skarebs that I've tested, the lockout lever seemed a little too tight to turn. It doesn't seem as nice and easy as the SID's. Can the tightness be adjusted?
