How do i know if i need a drop crown for my Monster T?Christopher

I think i do but i am not sure. Basically, there are two lines at the upper end of the stanchion and my lower crown sits about 5mm below the lowest line and the stanchions are already too far in on the top crown (ie. the top caps are not flush with the upper crown). So, so i need a drop crown? How much lower does the drop crown extend? my headtube is 5" and i have a fsa pigdh headset if that helps.

When in doubt, I always pop the top caps and let the fork fully bottom, if it stops on the top of the seals before you feel the fork hit metal to metal bottom, then you need more exposed stancion below the bottom of the lower crown, preferably 5mm extra exposed stancion when fully bottomed. If you dont have enough stancion in the normal leg area (non stepped down smaller diameter between the crowns) to move the crown up more, then you need a drop crown.
Better yet, take a picture of it and post it here.
