| 2002 Marathon S: Need help with oil change please | Nat May 20, 2003 10:41 AM | | I want to drain some oil from my fork (I think it cam overfilled from the factory), but the owner's manual stinks and was of no help. Can anyone walk me through the procedure? I heard it's pretty simple with this fork. |

"You will need 65ccs in the left and 100ccs in the right if it is a 100mm and if the fork is 80mm then you will need 60 in the left and 90 in the right".

| Almost, couple of other tips.... | Ventanarama May 21, 2003 5:26 AM | | Just a couple of details...Remove both the black plastic caps (right side takes 2mm allen), & let the air out. In the right side top cap (the cap itself, not the black knob) there's a spring loaded pin for the detent settings on the ECC. Take the pin and spring out, otherwise they could drop out when you turn the fork upside down to drain. There's a c-clip holding that top cap to the cartridge, you don't have to take the c-clip off unless you want to pull the lowers completely off (not needed for a simple oil change). Unscrew the top caps w/ a 21mm socket, they don't have a lot of thread, only a few turnes. Then pull up on them or push up on the lowers to expose the cartridges. Drain the oil out, cycle the oil out of the cartridges thoroughly, then refill the oil.
