What is the longest travel fork I can put on my GT idrive frame (2001 3.0 med) and still have a good handling bike? It came with 80mm, but my friends similiar frame came with a 100mm fork. Can I go to 120mm or 125mm?
You can put a 125mm fork on it.....jdcamb

If you didn't mind a bike with like a 66/67 deg. head tube angle. It would climb like crap and be fun as hell going down but you could do it no problem. I doubt you would want to though. I would say a 100mm fork would be the way to go. That would give you a 69/70 deg. head tube angle and it would probably match up with the rear travel just fine. My brother currently runs that setup and he has no problems at all.....jdcamb
