Valve leaking in Fox Float rear shock- help!(4 posts)

Valve leaking in Fox Float rear shock- help!intense dude
May 21, 2003 6:36 PM
I can hear air hissing out of the air valve after I pump up my FOX Float R shock. I think its a 2002 model. The Air is definitely coming right from the schrader valve type opening you put the air into. I'm guessing there might be a grain of sand or something wedged down there causing the link but I can't see anyhitng. Any suggestions to fix this without sending back to the factory?

Don't know if it matters but this air shock has been stored (wrapped) for about 9 months and worked fine when i put it away.

Try replacing the valve core. Your LBS may be able to check the core.

I think I've replaced the valve core on schrader tube before, is it the same thing onm the Fox shock? I was thinking it might be "locked in" on the shock

yes its easy if you have the little valve core tool and you can get new valves at the auto parts store.
