My shock was leaking so I picked up some new seals. The manual says to remove all of the air, use a vice and twist the sleeve to remove it. Well I must be a weakling b/c that sleeve is on there super tight and I can't budge it. Tried a little TriFlow with no success. I didn't think it would help b/c that sucker has to be air tight. I'm curious if anyone else has rebuilt one of these and how they got their sleeve off. Any special tools? Or should I just hit the gym more often and bulk up some more?

Mine isn't on that tight but they can be. Try soaking a kitchen cloth in some denatured alcohol or mineral spirits and use it to grip the sleeve with. The alcohol will prevent the cloth from slipping on the sleeve and improve your torque substantially.

Try to wrap an clean inner tube or rubber bands around the body to give you more grip. I have a 00 float R which was serviced by the LBS and it was super tight however my other 03 RL was no where near as tight from the factory.

Good luck!
