Rear shock for 2001 Enduro?(4 posts)

Rear shock for 2001 Enduro?Gavin
Jul 30, 2003 1:09 PM
I have a Specialized 2001 Enduro fitted with a fox air shock. I have a great deal on a 165mm RS SID with lockout, and was thinking of upgrading to get the lockout function. But will the SID fit my bike?
Any help from you experts appreciated...

is the oem blown? or are you looking for lock out? ive the 01 enduro that used a nonamer coil w/ rebound adj and it works great but seems to bob a little, was thinking maybe the 5th air on there, but have heard theres a loss of small bump compliance, still on the fence. anyway about the sid, dunno if you ever played w/the geometry on the swing link, but in the slackest setting the coil collar would rub on the link, called spec'd and they said flip the schock, id did and no more rub. i think thsi would be the only fit prob w/the sid as all air shocks have large bodies close to the eyelet, you may have to do a little homegrown machining of the link. all else fail call RS and ask if itll fit.

Anyone hear of anyone trying a 5th element on an Enduro yet? I have an 02 Pro that I'd love to try it on.

The coil version wont fit, I dont think. However, I'll bet that the 5th Element Air will. Try www.progressivesuspension.com I have the Coil 5th on my Gemini, and I love it.
