I need help on how to measure my rear shockUniQ

I have a rock shox pro delux on my weyless frame between and it is 6"and7" of travel and i think i blew it out today does anyone know how to measure a rear shox so i can know the right size to get a new one i know how to measure eye to eye i belive its 9 inches but i need to know how to measure the other setting thanks

I tryed the search feature but it did not yeild any results

Be very sure of your eye to eye measurement. It is measured from the center of one bolt to the center of the other. The second measurement needed is the stroke. Sometimes this is on the spring. ( 500x2.25 for example, is a 500lb spring with a 2.25" stroke.) If it is not on the spring, remove the spring, and measure the eye to eye fully compressed. Subtract the compressed measurement from the extended measurement, and you have the stroke. These are the measurements that you need. The last is the spring rate. Good Luck.

wasn't quite sure on that ! I have a 500# x 2.8 ---& need a firmer spring-but it's hard to find say's the local bike shop !!
