While it is a long travel single crown fork and will take moderate drops and jumps it is not primarily designed as a free ride fork. It's primary function is heavy duty XC and aggressive trail. It will do, as I said moderate freeride. But for serious hucking and sick drops you're better off with a Sherman or one of the many dual crown offerings. Of course this depends on your weight allot too. Lets face it, what makes a good freeride fork for a 145lb rider in many cases a 220lb rider can blow up in less than a season. So that should be a consderation also. Will the Comp do freeride, yes (within it's limits). Is it a purpose built freeride specific fork, no.
