| 2003 SID TEAM SETUP ? | russmag Aug 2, 2003 6:08 AM | | in the so called manual, the settings for pos/neg pressures are way off..any help on what works for a 160 lb rider? also, how can i get 80 mm of travel? do i have to rebuild it |
| Try these settings... | SS_MB-7 Aug 4, 2003 1:32 PM | | I have a '03 SID World Cup and I was also unhappy with the manual's suggested settings so I emailed RockShox and got a very quick and helpful reply with these suggestions:
1 - +ve pressure = body weight - 20 psi
2 - -ve pressure = body weight - 50 psi
3 - rebound settings at the mid-point
So, for your body weight, the settings should be +140/-110.
Now, as for your 80mm question, keep riding the fork. I have my fork set for 63mm and I only getting 58mm. This is actually a huge increase from the 48mm I was originally getting. A teammate on a SID Team has his fork set for 80mm but is only getting 74mm. Again, this is up from his original 65mm he was getting. It appears that through use, the internal bumpers begin to permanently compress to allow more travel.
Ride Hard,
