Help needed! Shock related question... Help plz.Hogmeister

Hi.
The bike is a 2003 Stinky.
I have to change the default spring on my 7.875" FOX Vanilla, but the pressed-in sleeve of the upper shock bolt is blocking the spring.
I suppose that I have to press it out / tap it out with a hammer, but that's not the problem.

The problem is: How do I press that sleeve (or whatever) back into the upper shock eyelet???

Help and ideas are very much appreciated.
Thanks.

You can remove them and press them in with a smaller vise. Use wood shims or other soft material on the vice faces to avoid scratching them when pulling them out. Large channel-lock pliers can work too if they spread wide enough to open the full width and still have a fairly flat face to the reducers. They sure are pressed in tight when new.
