2002 MXR Air - Travel Extension 80mm to 100mmjsk

I talked to my LBS today regarding extending my 2002 Marzocchi MXR air fork from the current 80mm to 100mm. Through previous posts, it appears that all I would need to do is replace the top out springs in order to make this change. My LBS stated that I would also have to replace the pumping rods in order to make this change. Does anyone know if this is correct, or if I only need to replace the top out springs?
