Need a Fork for a Big Guy(2 posts)

Need a Fork for a Big GuyEric Salzer

Hi guys, I haven't been able to ride in years and I'm finally able to get back into it. My bike is now in working condition again, but given that I'm about 50 pounds heavier than when I first bought it, my '98 Manitou SXR is bottoming out without much effort on my part (I'm about 235 pounds). I'm looking for a new fork, and since it's been so long, I have no clue what is out there anymore. In terms of what
I'm looking for, I don't need tons of travel, I will be riding mostly XC and unfortunately, I'll probably be doing more road riding than I would like. An on the fly lockout would be nice for climbs, or when I'm on smooth, flat road, but it's not absolutely necessary. In terms of price, I will probably cap it off around $300. So can you help me out? Thanks.

Look at the Marzocchi Forks. There made for bigger riders. The MX Comp with ETA has something similar to a lock out. Or you can look to upgrade the coil in what you have.
