set up for manitou air 3way?shabs

Hello, building up a 04 Giant VT 2 and it has a swinger 3 way air, but the wrong manual.
Anyone know the general guidlines for setting the positive chamber and the SPV chamber? Thanks.

The SPV chamber pressure sets the blowopen threshold. Unfortunately it will also have a small effect on the sag.

So start with the air pressure, try enough to get you about 1/4 sag. Then work with the SPV chamber pressure a little at a time until you've got the minimum to cut out the bobbing. Then go back and check your sag.
Keep chasing your tail until you're happy.

The volume adjuster in the end of the reservior (if you have one) changes how easy it is to bottom out the shock. To change this deflate the SPV chamber, adjust and reinflate the SPV chamber.

Rebound is as normal.

I had the same problem with my swinger 4 way air , they sent the QL manual with it. Its one unified manual for all the swinger shocks and you can find it on the manitou website. Also there are pressure setup tables on giants website, these are specific to the VT and did not work well at all on my bike (loco-moto).
Basically they say to pump up the spv chamber before the main chamber. It should be set-up around 50%-70% of your weight (in lbs) but never ride with less then 50 psi since this could damage the shock!
For the positive chamber they just say to inflate till you get 25%-30% sag , no pressures given.

Hope this helps,
Erez
