This fork is schizophrenic! I love the fork but it sometimes is noisy.

.....right top cap with the fine grit stuff. This is quite often an oil adhesion problem causing the washers to stick together. Fox says this has occurred with a handfull of forks, their fix is to swap out the top cap for a new one, some of which came off the line with not enough machining marks on the underside to avoid the adhesion. The first fix I mentioned was posted by Charles from Hammerhead and others have said it not only works, but is quite easy. People that have this problem usually say the knock happens during the first 1/2" inch of compression.

Actually I posted that info about 2 months ago, but I give Charles full credit for the tip. Eliminated the knock on my TALAS completely. Search the Shock archives for my post & you'll find it.
