Wow MBA article on Hanebrink SpeedDream, any info?Mario

Just read an article in the February MBA magazine about what seems like an amazing fork. It's supposed to be a new Hanebrink called the SpeedDream, 2 to 6 inches of adjustable travel, 44 mm stanchions and only 4.5lbs. It's an air fork which is supposed to have a great linear feel because of 2 huge chambers.

Anyway, I'd like to know if any of you have more info. I checked reviews of Hanebrink forks and they seem like a love/hate kind of thing. This fork is $850, quite some money!

Any info on the fork or feedback on Hanebrink forks in general will be appreciated.

Thanks
Yeh, I read that article too, although I thought it said 4 lb. ...Bikeless Rider

...The predecessor to the Air Syndicate was a 5" inverted with a very similar look, and a claimed weight of 3.25 lb. I've read some reviews on the 5", and I tend to think the one guy that said it was too flexy may have had a point. It's very dificult to make even a heavier inverted not feel twisty at the wheel. The single crown Shiver I looked at on a bike had the kind of flex I'm talking about big time, and it's much heavier, although smaller diameter uppers. Most of the flex occurs in the lowers though, I think the 1.5 standard single crown forks with traditional brake arch sliders may be better. The Air Syndicate seems to use air damping as well, requiring precise air pressure equalization while it's cycling. Very rad and new technology, and I'd be skeptical about all the bugs being worked out. By new I mean it's quite a leap from the Arlo Englund cartridges that merely bleed air through tiny ports. The Syndicate's rebound damping actually depends on the formation of vaccuums during the cycling. What happens if the vaccuum is compromised due to wear of seals, fork internals, or lubrication? Alot of $$$ to dump into new unproven technology, but I'm not exactly a suspension guru, so I'll defer to the experts, and wait and see how it works out for them.
You're right, it's 4.15 not 4.5...Mario

Thanks for your feedback. I agree with you that it would be quite a gamble to buy one of those. It's too bad that their web site is totally useless. No specs at all. I would have liked to know the axle to crown on it.

Anyway, it's really good looking but I guess I'll stick with the "normal" stuff, I'm 99% decided to buy the Sherman Firefly 04...

Cheers.
