broken bottom nut on Vanilla....poothe Inbred
Jan 10, 2004 10:40 AM
i was out riding in town, working on some stairs/ledges....i fell, and unfortunately the bike took a bigger, longer tumble, with the brute of the impact apparently going towards the fork (Vanilla RL). got home and realized the bottom nut on the cartridge (right) side had broken off, as well as that 1/2" of the threaded shaft. has anyone experienced this? i called Fox after i discovered it and was told it would only be $35 to fix...did a search on here and saw that someone else broke their's off and it was something like $217CAN 'cause they had to replace the whole cartridge. any ideas?

i guess while i'm here, i'm still getting full travel out of my fork when it's "locked out", even after servicing it. i'm 185 with 7.5wt oil and stiff spring. i guess i should ask Fox about this next time i call.
